Job Title: Full-Time Fishing Charter Captain



Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-Time Fishing Charter USCG Captain to operate our 41-foot vessel and provide exceptional fishing experiences for our clients in Kauai. As the captain, you will be responsible for safely navigating the vessel, locating fish, and ensuring a memorable and enjoyable fishing adventure for our guests. This is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly rate of $35 per hour plus fish percentage and tips.

 -MUST be able to pass a pre-hire drug test and random drug testing as required.

 -Must have Hawaii GE license, this is an independent contractor position - 1099 

 

We offer competitive compensation of $35 per hour for a full-time / part-time position, along with opportunities for fish sales, tips, and mount sales.

Job Title: Full-Time Fishing Charter Deck Hand

 


Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Full-Time Fishing Charter Deck Hand to join our team on a 41-foot fishing vessel in Kauai. As a deck hand, you will work closely with the captain and crew to ensure smooth operations, assist guests during fishing trips, and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment onboard. This is a full-time position offering a competitive hourly rate of $20. plus, percentage of fish sales, tips, and mount sales. 

Responsibilities:

Assisting Guests:
Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout the fishing charter. This includes assisting guest that become seasick.
Assist guests with boarding and disembarking the vessel, ensuring their safety and comfort during the process.
Guide guests in the proper use of fishing equipment, including rods, reels, and bait, and offer support and guidance in fishing techniques.

Work towards getting five star reviews


Tackle and Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain and organize fishing tackle, ensuring that equipment is clean, functional, and readily available for guests' use.
Assist with the preparation of bait, rigging lines, and setting up fishing gear as directed by the captain or senior crew members.
Clean and maintain the deck area, including removing debris and organizing fishing equipment after each trip.


Safety and Emergency Preparedness:
Follow and enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure the well-being of guests and crew members. Constant attentiveness to the guests.
Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures, including the location and proper use of safety equipment such as life jackets, fire extinguishers, and emergency flotation devices.
Assist the captain and crew in conducting safety briefings and drills for guests.

Maintain a clear deck with no tripping hazards 

Keeping lures/hooks/ gaffs / knives, etc. at a safe distance from guests. 


Fishing Operations Support:
Aid the captain and crew in identifying fishing spots, preparing fishing lines, maintaining the lines preventing tangels,  and ensuring that fishing gear is properly deployed and retrieved.

Actively fishing by changing our lures, adjusting spread as needed
Assist guests in handling caught fish, including unhooking, measuring, and safely releasing or storing the fish, depending on the charter's regulations.
Clean and maintain fishing equipment after each trip, including rods, reels, and other tackle.


Vessel Maintenance and Housekeeping:
Assist with general vessel maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing storage areas, ensuring that they are kept neat and accessible.
Help maintain the cleanliness of the vessel's interior and exterior, including washing decks, windows, and other surfaces as needed.
Participate in routine checks and inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs to the captain or senior crew members.
Requirements:

Previous experience working on a fishing charter vessel or in a related field is preferred.
Ability to work well as part of a team, taking direction from the captain and senior crew members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide outstanding customer service to guests.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform duties associated with working on a fishing vessel, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
Basic knowledge of fishing techniques, tackle, and equipment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing fishing conditions and guest requirements.
Availability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays. Shifts will often include two charters a day. 
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20 plus fish sales percentage, tip percentage, and mount sales percentage.
